Crouching Cheetah (Hidden Dragon?)

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Same cheetah as previous picture, only he has struck a different pose. It might look kind like I’m in trouble, but I never felt like he was angry at me. He eventually got up and walked away. He had a big enclosure to wander around in, and he looked well-cared for. [...]

Face of a Cheetah

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

A little north and west of the town of St. Lucia (South Africa) is a little place off the highway where they rehabilitate cats so they can be released back into the wild. This looks like a dangerous picture to take, but there was a wire fence between me and this cat. I [...]

Turtle Night

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

This may not look like much of a picture, but to me it helps portray/remember an unforgettable experience. This is the moon rising over the Indian Ocean some miles north of the town of St. Lucia, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Only two cars are allowed to drive along these miles of beach between [...]

Lilypad Flower

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

During our visit to St. Lucia, South Africa, this past January, stayed in a lodge a few blocks away from the town’s busy main street. They had a small man-made pond with some lilypads (and LOTS of tadpoles!). The flowers were very pretty, so I took a picture of one.
